As part of the urban development of Metz, a new gymnasium is under construction, featuring advanced engineering techniques and a commitment to sustainability. The project combines LC spruce GL24h cross-beams, steel columns, and insulated concrete precast walls to ensure the stability of the structure. The timber roof structure serves as a support for the photovoltaic panels. BET Moselle Bois, a customer of Dlubal Software, was responsible for the structural analysis and design.
The "Bamboo Stalactite" is a project representing Vietnam at the 16th edition of the Venice Biennale for Architecture. La Biennale di Architettura di Venezia is an international exhibition held every 2 years in Venice (Italy), in which architects from all over the world participate, presenting their projects.
Dlubal customer Estudi M103, an architecture office for structural consulting and calculation reports, was commissioned to carry out the structural consulting of the first office building built entirely of wood in Spain, using Dlubal RFEM software. It is an office building with a ground floor and 4 above-ground stories, located on Calle Llacuna 42 in Barcelona. With this type of building, construction periods are shortened due to the use of new sustainable materials, and even carbon emissions are reduced by 50% during construction.
The Moongate residence, located in Sedona, Arizona, USA, was exceptionally designed by the Scottsdale-based architecture and planning studio of SWABACK.
The general contractor Demathieu Bard Construction commissioned Dlubal customer BET Moselle Bois to carry out the timber-and-steel structures' preliminary design. The projects are part of the Marie Curie School located in Fontoy, in the Moselle district.
Two 9- and 6-story residential buildings, which include 56 units in total, are the first in France to be certified passive at the height of 9 stories. They are located in seismic zone 4, in the heart of Grenoble’s Flaubert eco-neighborhood. The buildings, constructed with 52,972 ft3 of zinc-coated wood, are both an architectural masterpiece and an innovative achievement to inspire housing sustainability for the next decade.
Modern design methods and fabrication techniques of CLT panels allow for easier design and construction of high‑rise timber buildings.
“Îlot bois de Strasbourg” is one of the first CLT building projects in France to exceed 98 ft in height. This building complex, consisting of three high‑rise buildings, provides commercial space on the ground floor and 146 residential units on the upper floors. The entire structure has a total area of 100,104 ft².
At a height of around 6,889 ft you can enjoy a breathtaking view of the Dolomites with a delicious meal. Since 2016 these amenities have been available at the top station of the Obereggen skiing area, South Tyrol. The Oberholz alpine hut restaurant, with its exceptional architecture, fits perfectly into the surrounding landscape.
In December 2013, a hotel with extraordinary architecture opened in Davos, Switzerland. The building has the shape of a “Golden Egg” and is situated on a mountainside. The hotel is elliptical in shape with all the corners rounded. It was constructed using reinforced concrete and its external dimensions are about 344 ft x 131 ft.
In the Italian town of Brescia, the company Rubner Objektbau GmbH, functioning as the general contractor, has built an apartment complex with appealing architecture consisting of timber. Four housing complexes with a total of 72 housing units were constructed in a minimal amount of time. For the Lombard Institute for Residential Buildings (ALER), this was the first project carried out in wood.
In autumn 2012, construction started in Wörgl, Austria for an apartment complex that was, by request of the building owner, completely planned and designed as a BIM model, including structural analysis, work planning, call for tenders, and so on.
For this purpose, software tools from the company bimm GmbH were used, by which architects, structural engineers, and building engineers could work together efficiently on a 3D model. RFEM and the Autodesk programs Revit Architecture and Revit Structure, to which Dlubal has a direct interface, served as the basic software for this project.
